During long-term operation of steam turbines, impurities are present in the steam to some extent, and some of these impurities may fall onto the blades of the turbine or flow through parts such as nozzles on baffles, and then deposit. There are generally two ways of impurity deposition: one is to attach to the metal surface in the form of attachments, mostly composed of metal oxides and inorganic salts. And the other type is deposited in the form of scale, which is insoluble in water and can bond very firmly with the metal surface, with a very hard texture. Due to the accumulation of impurities, the steam flow area and cutting angle set by the turbine change, resulting in an increase in the unit heat consumption of the turbine during power generation, leading to a decrease in the efficiency of the turbine and indirect economic losses to the power plant So during each routine maintenance, the power plant needs to clean the dirt and attachments on the turbine blades and baffle nozzles. However, due to the large number of turbine blades and baffle nozzles, small blade clearances, and hard texture of the dirt, manual cleaning methods cannot or are difficult to clean. In the past, physical sandblasting treatment was generally used, which refers to the use of yellow sand particles in compressed air. This method can clean the dirt and attachments completely, and the cleaning speed is much faster than manual methods. However, this method has many disadvantages.

The universality of high-pressure cleaning machines is favored by the cleaning industry. Its main working medium is pure water, and its working principle is to pressurize ordinary tap water to hundreds or even thousands of atmospheres through a high-pressure cleaning pump, and then spray a highly concentrated jet of energy through a small aperture high-pressure nozzle, which is commonly known as high-pressure water jet. The high-pressure water jet can directly impact the cleaned object to achieve the cleaning purpose. In recent years, the application of high-pressure cleaning machines in power plants has become increasingly widespread, especially in the cleaning of turbine blades. Experiments have shown that this technology has high cleaning efficiency, short working cycle, and safer protection.
